Might it be that too many women relying on the efficacy of the HPV vaccine against cervical cancer and not having smear tests could be behind a dramatic increase in cervical cancers in young women? The HPV vaccine was introduced in 2008 and smear test take-up has dropped significantly since 2010. Rates of cervical cancer have risen by 54% in young women since 2010.
