News: Smear tests probably safer for cervical cancers than relying on the HPV vaccine

Might it be that too many women relying on the efficacy of the HPV vaccine against cervical cancer and not having smear tests could be behind a dramatic increase in cervical cancers in young women? The HPV vaccine was introduced in 2008 and smear test take-up has dropped significantly since 2010. Rates of cervical cancer have risen by 54% in young women since 2010. It doesn’t take much to connect the dots there, I’d say…
