Dr O’s New Truly #Gluten Free MultiVit

Ah, but is it truly gluten free? Some of you have no doubt seen Dr O’s launch of his new TGF multivitamin and mineral. But, even with Dr O, I don’t take it on trust that it is in fact TGF safe – or safe enough for my criteria anyway ๐Ÿ™‚

The good news is that, so far, it has checked out.

He says the vitamin E is from sunflower rather than corn or soya and the vitamin C is from potato, which is a first for me after quizzing zillions of companies! I’m not sure how they are fermented but he is kindly sending me a sample pot of the multi and the Max Digest enzyme formula to try out. Oh heck. I hope I don’t feel more migraines coming on… wish me luck!

  1. God luck Micki! I keep reading Dr O’s blogs and keep coming away frustrated! Maybe it’s just me but I can’t help feeling he’s always trying to part me from my hard earned money!!

He does have some very interesting topics and I have learned from him , but always there’s this niggling doubt.

Is he a doctor of medicine do we know, or is he trained in another field?

    1. I know what you mean. I think his info and research is brilliant but he obviously needs to pay his mortgage, as we all do ๐Ÿ˜‰ Bit full-on sometimes, maybe, I agree. It’s always a difficult balance to strike and I often hope people think I’m getting it OK. It’s a difficult one to balance because I must spend probably 80% of my time on work I don’t charge for in the hope that people will buy my stuff when they need it, especially now the research/writing takes so much time I can’t see patients to actually make any money. This is not a recommended way to pay your mortgage, I can tell you!! In alternative medicine, people seem to have this feeling that much of your time and stuff should be free but then think nothing of paying their plumber ยฃ80 just to come out to them, yet we are fixing much more than a tap! In our case as barrier people, I suppose we are fixing your leaks, though – ha, ha, I made a joke ๐Ÿ™‚

Dr O is a chiropractor by trade I think, which in the US certainly is a medical qualification. Having said that, though, I don’t think it matters. I am not a qualified medical doctor either but I certainly know a hell of a lot more than 99.9% of doctors about gluten illness because I’ve suffered it, researched it and practiced it clinically. Same as Dr O, I presume. Go for his info and only buy what he suggests if you need it and ignore the rest ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Just to say, I think you do a wonderful job at striking the balance. It must be hard! And you certainly do do a lot of ‘free’ work for us all – it’s obviously a true vocation, what you do!
Love the analogy and joke, haha!
(sorry for having hijacked the entire blog this morning – got up very early, couldn’t sleep and thought I’d catch-up, read and comment where I never get time!) :/

    1. Thank you, Becky, I hope I do get it right. It can get a bit panicky doing such a lot of unpaid work. It’s always a bit of a gamble at the end of the month to see if enough money comes in. Good job I have minimalist tastes!

Don’t apologise, nice to have comments but hope you sleep better tonight.

      1. Gawd, I can imagine! The universe will always make ends meet for you as long as you are doing such self-less work, I am sure of it! ;D x
Thank you – think I may have got glutened, have been moody headachy and sleepless :/ Poo. Feeling a bit better today though so fingers crossed! Just have to be SO careful!

      2. Oh bum ๐Ÿ™ I have a migraine today from stopping coffee and having a herb tea instead yesterday which I have clearly reacted to. I was only trying to be good!

      3. I did exactly the same thing on saturday! NEARLY had a coffee and said to my hubby “no, I’ll be good and have a tea…” – instantly reacted to it with a migraine!! (never had those teabags before) just so gutting when you make a choice you wouldn’t usually do , in the name of being good – and it turns out it’s WORSE! Grrr!

  3. How did you get on with these multi vits Micki? I could do with an alternative to the normal ones as I seem to react to those. Perhaps I could get the ones without copper and iron? Those are okay aren’t they?

I think you get the balance right, it must be hard I’m sure ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you, Debbie, hope so. Re multi, not received anything yet – normally takes a few weeks, I don’t know why! Remember the caution on the without Cu/Fe multi currently – the Vit C was found to be corn instead of the usual cassava. It is being corrected in the next batch. I am checking monthly and will advise you. Meantime, perhaps use the Multi Min, a B Complex and others to replicate it – use the new Supplement Master list for safe ones.

      1. So the one I have currently is the one with copper and iron. Should that one be okay then? Or was there an issue with the folic acid? Perhaps I’ll give it another go ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. There was a possible issue with the new type of folic acid, yes. Not many have reported a reaction, actually, but it’s a possibility. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place with the no Cu/Fe one having the cassava problem currently. Hence me trying Dr O’s with my fingers and toes crossed.
