New Saliva Test For Endometriosis

Good news today as it has now become much easier – and much less invasive – to test for endometriosis in women aged 18-43. TDL has listed the new Endotest and explains:

Endometriosis affects one in 10 women worldwide. The estimation and impact of women affected with endometriosis is so vast that Gynaecologists and GPs are aware of the significance of this condition. There are numerous associated signs and symptoms that may lead to a diagnosis of endometriosis – but the average term to diagnosis is 8 years and when an earlier diagnosis can be made, the chances of some form of effective treatment can be offered.

Ziwig Endotest® is a CE-IVD kit intended for use among women aged from 18 to 43 years old, suspected of having endometriosis. Samples from patients outside of this age range cannot be accepted.

Patients with HIV or who are pregnant are not eligible for testing.

After diagnosis, medical imaging is important for lesion description, mapping and classification.

The diagnostic accuracy of sensitivity and specificity and AUC is >95%.
