Endometriosis: Is The Trigger Bacterial?

Endometriosis may be caused by bacterial infections

Endometriosis is a condition that is estimated to affect around 10% of people of reproductive age globally, yet the factors of its development have been difficult to trace. Whilst mostly considered a hereditary condition, researchers in Japan have found that there may be a specific bacteria associated with endometriosis found all the way up in the mouth.

Fusobacterium nucleatum, a bacteria usually associated with gum disease, was found to be much more common in people with endometriosis than without. Whilst a larger scale study of the disease in relation to F. nucleatum is yet to be performed, it is a major step in understanding the bacterial roots of the disease, and how scientists can fight against it in the future.

Invivo E News

If in doubt, check for it using the Oral Ecologix test (use my Invivo code and link below) and deal with anything found. Meantime, see my Endometriosis factsheet for more info on causes, testing and a suggested protocol.
