Myo-Inositol for PCOS

A recent study reminded me how good myo-inositol, a close associate of the B Complex vitamin group, can be for polycystic ovary syndrome, especially if you are having trouble conceiving.

Check the study here:

Impact of myo-inositol treatment in women with polycystic ovary syndrome in assisted reproductive technologies

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is marked in 30 to 40% by insulin resistance and hyperandrogenism. Myo-inositol (MI) increases insulin sensitivity, decreases hyperandrogenism and improves the menstrual cycle….Myo-inositol is effective in normalizing ovarian function, improving oocyte and embryo quality in PCOS…

Lamberts do a Myo-Inositol powder which makes it easy to get to the same dose of 4g per day as used in the studies. I have seen it help in women with erratic cycles and excess hair growth. I’ve not given it for fertility reasons myself, but this study suggests I should!

You can read more about PCOS in my free Help I’ve Got PCOS book and you can test for PCOS specifically – search for the Advanced PCOS Test.
