You can’t outrun a bad diet.
Essentially, this is making the point that even if you do a lot of exercise, it is not enough if you are trying to lose weight: you have to sort your diet out too.
You’d think it was obvious but actually I do come across people who are doing loads of exercise in the hope they can still eat lots of buns! I did it myself at one point, I confess – and it did work for a while. Of course, you might get a bit fitter cardiovascularly, but it’s not going to do much for the cause of the weight gain or your diabetes risk in the long run! You have to change your diet, full stop.
