Many of you ask me about high cholesterol and statins and I am constantly fielding queries from people concerned their cholesterol is too high at over 4 and the fact that their doctor has told them to go on statins. You ask if there is anything else you can do?
Well, yes, there is, but does your cholesterol have to be that low at all is my first response. You can have too little and I personally think, in many cases, that is more harmful.
I have written about this subject many times. Suffice to say, I am pleased today to direct you to a film called Statin Nation which questions the use of this over-prescribed drug as a cash cow for Big Pharma. Is cholesterol the baddie it is cracked up to be? No. Are statins the wonder drug we have been told? No. At least not according to the researchers and scientists in this film.

I love this film. It contains nearly all my cholesterol heroes. I recommend it to everyone who talks about cholesterol to me. How many actually watch it I don’t know, but it saved me from lots of angst.
