Just thought I would let you know that the first batch of gluten genetic test results have come through this week – and all are positive! It looks like I have stumbled upon a BIG hidden health issue here.
This basically shows that these people have an auto-immune gluten disorder where gluten can attack tissues in the body. We happen to know about the villi damage in coeliac disease, but this is just ONE consequence of the damage gluten can do.
There is gluten in ALL grains, and these patients were on the traditional gluten free diet of no wheat, rye, barley or oats, but I suspected were still reacting to other grains. Corn is a baddie for a start. They will now be following the trulyglutenfree programme to remove the highest gluten grains in order. Corn is second only to wheat, for example!
If you have no idea what I am talking about, check the new section on true gluten sensitivity on the website and prepare to be amazed. I am also about to launch a new site at www.trulyglutenfree.co.uk (live, but not finished yet as I have to put the first few blog posts on eg: which tamari brand is pretending to be gluten free and yummy rosemary bread made with almond flour).
Busy, busy bee! Exciting to be able to help people confirm suspicions though and work out why they continue to be ill despite us making all the normal natural medicine changes.
