We’re not talking ancestry tests here, but medical genetics – have you any weak areas it might be useful to know about so you can strengthen them and prevent issues in the future? Are there any weaknesses keeping you from getting well using normal interventions?
For example, do you have methylation or other detox issues you could support? Do you naturally put more weight on, not sleep, not make Vitamin D from sunlight easily (me!), create more inflammation, not balance your blood sugar or cholesterol as well as you might because you have a genetic ‘weakness’ there?
Testing Summary
One important thing to note before we start is that just because you may have a genetic weakness (or SNP) somewhere, does not mean you have or will get any allied conditions. Through the science of epigenetics, we know that genes need to be triggered in some way, via infection, stress, food or whatever. So, do bear that in mind. That said, it can be really eye-opening to see potential weaknesses and know to offset them in future or, if they do match your symptoms, know where to start!
