Check out the Co-op’s new, albeit small, freefrom range of wheat, gluten and some dairy free products just in store. If your local store hasn’t got any, ask. I remember doing that in the store near us in Saddleworth and they were very helpful. Don’t ask, don’t get and all that. Bit late Co-op but welcome aboard!
Is it about the same as Sainsbury’s and Tesco?
I’ve just been told I’m borderline intolerant to gluten and intolerant to wheat and sugar and black tea, intolerant to cane/beet sugar but not demerara but OK with honey/glucose? I’m at a bit of a loss as what to do or where to go with being classed as “borderline”. Was told to go for the “lighter” grains – oats OK but not too many. Do I cut all of the above out or just go easy?
Hi Janet,
The range is like all freefrom ranges as far as I can see, but useful that it is in more local stores probably. Re your ‘borderline’ gluten intolerance, that is a bit of a misnomer. You cannot be a little bit pregnant, just as you can’t be a little bit gluten sensitive; you either are or aren’t in my view. What test did you have done? If you prefer, please PM me at micki@purehealthclinic.co.uk.
